FERVID

People are surprised to learn that I write every day for at least four hours, M-F and sometimes on the weekend too. Specifically, two hours in the morning and two hours in the early afternoon. I can’t work for much more than two hours at a time. I’ve tried working for longer, but after two hours or so it becomes all mimblewimble, which, I think you’ll agree, is counter productive. Writing a novel is intense. I have only so much emotional energy and focus to give at any one time.
